Any updates on this guys for a E90 m sport bumper???
Watched the video and for the life of me can't seem to get the top clips outta there,can see with torch that I'm about the break the back off the bumper tab off,
Only had the car a few days and need to attach a tow bar and can't understand how it can be this hard or easy to just rip the crap outta the bumper.
Are there and shop trick out there or any tools for the job

for the E90 m sport remove the rear wheels and liners and use long pry/pick/screwdriver to unclip the damn clips from the inside,
just done it, in a hour..simple job as long as you remove the wheels and liners

heres what i did i use his video to see where the bolts are but use my video to remove the bumper prety easy really. i hope it helps see so many posts about horror sotories of breaking tabs every time you remove the bumper.

well damn i broke one tab but oh well its the old bumper time to get the mtech one on. those tabs are a pain their really has to be a more logical way to get them off right?

I recently put on a new mtech rear, just pull the each side of the rear bumper towards the rear end of the car, it will easily come off. it take me 10 min to remove the bumper

I just used this DIY to replace my old bumper with an M tech one. The intructions are great. It would have taken me twice as long without the instructions. I took my time with this and it took me about an hour to remove completely. Installing the new bumper took about 25 minutes.

In the video he recommends uncoupling the first three tabs from the wheel well first, then uncoupling the tabs beneath the taillights, and finally uncoupling the last tab on the side. I tried that on one side, wound up tearing two of the tabs on the old bumper. On the other side I uncoupled the rear taillight tabs first, then the side tabs and it went much easier, and no tears.

I had the bumper painted by a local shop that had done some work on my wifes GTI...her paint matched perfectly...mine didn't New bumper is a bit darker. That'll be fixed soon.

I was able to pull the bumper off super easy this way. No tabs broken either.
I guess this is how it was intended to come off.

I'm going to attempt this over this weekend. Everyones talking abt getting the bumper off and all, but what abt putting the new bumper on? Is it just as simple and easy as pushing the bumper in and the clips will attach? I find that there might be some difficulty in this just by looking at the vid.

And also, any other tips for us e90'ers?

Same question too. I just bought a used LCI rear bumper and it did not come with any parts just the bumper. Would my already existing pieces work with the LCI bumper or do I need to buy other parts?

actualy the video is perfect except the side clips removing/tabs holders.

remove all screws and all you have to do is pull the the bumber direct from the cars, and the bumper will nice slide out without any damage.

After I've replaced only the rear bumper... i realized that the holes for screws are a little bit different. Buts it not really necesary to replace the bottom plastic cover. Anyway with the proper M bottom cover it would be better.

Do not follow this poster instructions. Not trying to diss him, but you'll likely do more damage than good. I tried to follow his lead for 3 hours then found the damn thing will slide off (with some grunt). Remove screws as directed. Remove rear lights. Unhook tabs under the tail lights with a plastic body tool. I then sprayed some WD40 along the fascia seam and into the black clam-like devices holding the fascia under the lights. Grab the fascia behind the rear wheel and anywhere else you can apply rear-ward pressure and massage it until it slides off. The hooks that grab the tabs are beveled front to back to allow the fascia to slide backward, but the some WD40 helps the sliding process.
