I think it is only possible on '09 models and onwards with the CIC system.

It's not possible out of the factory. But you can buy a module which tricks the CIC into thinking the car stands still...

Mods4Cars.com makes a product called SmartTV or something like that. I would send you the link but I can't get it at work or on my cell. All of the rest of their products work great but I have not used this one yet.....

Not possible. The DVD drive is only data as far as I've ever heard, you can't play movies at all.

You have to install a sepearte video module like nav2go/etc and then install a DVD player somewhere in the car (usually under the passenger seat)

The CCC drives (06-08) do not play DVD movies in the first place, there would be no need for an unlocker.

Any LCI with CIC can be programmed. It took me all of 20 minutes, and that was the first time I did any coding.

I have read a number of times in different threads that a 2010 BMW can have the video-in-motion unlocked via programming but no-one ever bloody says how to do it. I took my car to a BMW Tech who can do coding changes and he said that he couldn't find the necessary screens as they were now hidden and didn't know how to "expose" them.

I have a 2010 325i e90 with CIC with professional 8 inch screen.

$20 to the first person who actually answers the $1 million question of but "HOW DO YOU DO IT"????

Thanks.....

Mate,

If your BMW Tech knows how to code options on your car then he should be able to find the menu for activation of DVD in-motion.
If not you can contact Patrys here on this forum who can remotely code it for you, or alternatively buy a module that you install behind your CIC from
motivemods.com, both Patryk & Roger are very helpful.
Good luck !

Or alternatively, if you are not afraid to bugger up your car and experienced with programming, then read the section on this forum called "BMW Coding" and give it a try yourself !!
