Kinda wanna just give up and go through insurance. Since it's not my fault, cost has absolutely no bearing to me. Replace the bumper, fill in the holes - I really couldn't care. I already wasted time to get the first quote, so kinda don't want to waste any more time. Maybe I'll just phone up the guy and tell him I'm going through insurance.

Just in a pissy mood today...

Just a fwiw, but normally a repair costs more than a replacement. Unless it's a rear quarter the labour involved usually outweighs the costs of a replacement by a long shot with modern body work. Think of it like this; normal body shops charge between $75-$100/hr, so if it takes 4 hours to sand, fill, & re-sand a bumper you're already at $400 before paint, which is the cost of a primed bumper cover. Then you need to prime, velour, sand, re-prime and re-spray. With a replacement you just do base, clear, and you're done.

That's why when you go through insurance body shops push to repair, because they make more money.

Okay, so I went and reported the accident at the Scarborough Collision Reporting Centre. You actually have to report within 24 hours not 48 hours as posted above.

So what happens now? Does the report automatically get sent to my insurance co?

24 hours now? When I went there last year it was 72 hours. I posted 48 to be on the safe side...sorry :/

AFAIK the info does not get forwarded to your insurance co, you need to call them and give them the file number from the CRC.
