check torque and tire pressure between sessions (borrow torque wrench). Bring plenty of (non-alcoholic) drinks, you'll get dehydrated fast.
You don't need much for your first event, just go out there and have fun. Over time you'll develop a (very very) long checklist of items to bring with you, most of which won't matter on a first event. Or bribe someone to give you one. Good luck and enjoy. |

that's good weather, lucky you. There's a tropical storm coming up the East Coast, heavy rain all day tomorrow, there goes day 1 of my last event of the season, let's see if Friday gets better.

Yea, the weathers finally cooling down and its only going to get cooler. I'm hoping i can finally get some full sessions without limping. But look on the bright side, east coast has all the better tracks

Buttonwillow this time of the year is no hotter than Los Angeles. Highs will likely be in the mid to high 80s, tops.
The "window" issue is not about the weather, it's about communications with other drivers. You will have to sit through driver's orientation, but intra-car signals are given out through the window, typically to indicate which direction you would like the over-taking car(s) to pass. If this is your very first time on track, I would recommend that you insist an instructor ride with you the entire day. |

u keep your windows down when on the track and you also want to turn ur heater to max and fan on full blast. Its warm but its not that bad... you can roll the windows up after youre off the track.

It's his first event, he really doesn't have to do that...He may need to concentrate on other things rather than having to deal with hot air blasting through the cabin. Like giving point-bys

Im going on Sunday, zsapphire is going on Saturday. I believe white and blue group are both full on Saturday so if you have no/very little track experience, you will have to sign up for Sunday.

The drive home is the worst (and mine is only 2 hours). You'll be pretty mentally and physically exhausted after a whole days worth of driving. Bring a friend that can drive you back.
