just looked it up. $23 bucks per month for a year for Express Wash in my area or $7 bucks per car life time membership for 48 Hour clean car guarantee, 4 day clean car guarantee on premium washes, every 10th wash is free, and free wash on birthday pretty good deal for just $7 bucks.

I only asked because there was a time when I was tied in pretty close with the car wash industry up there (why I am not afraid of a car wash with cloth in it) and wondered what your current favorite wash is.
I've given up the battle of trying to explain to people that cloth washes can be safe (not all of them are, I've been in some that were less than pleasant). To each his own - and I LOVE the pride in ownership line. SWEET. Quote:

Wash in my driveway every week. Gotta love being in the 60's all winter long.

Nice - always good to chat up another roadie. Feel secure though - I will FOREVER aspire to my bike - it is 3x better than I will ever be. I love it though, and it begs me to ride it. Like the wife, but more often...

I hand wash religiously in the warm months but I've been going to a local car wash lately, it's not touchless but it is pretty new and I haven't seen any swirling/scratches from it. Just have to tough it out for the winter I guess. Although I am gonna order some ONR soon and see how well it works.

I hand wash at the self car wash during the winter. I would do it at home in my driveway but I don't have heated water coming through my garage hose.

Wash and wax in the fall, then take it to the self-serve-wand-wash about once a week to get the road grime off. Usually just put $2 and run it on high-pressure rinse, comes out looking nearly as clean as a full wash. One local wash doesn't mind if you sponge, dry or wax when not busy, so I usually go there at least once a month and clean it really well (and re-wax in mid-winter).

Never. Just old fashioned hand wash all year long. Just not as frequent washing during winter. But when I wash during the sunny seasons, I wax it every time.

13 years of hand & mostly $7 touchless washes - detailed 2 years ago for the first time. Not a slave to washing vehicles.

My 335i has needed a dealer visit for maintenance or repairs every single month I have owned it. The dealer washes the car for you before they give it back. I have only paid for one car wash since I have owned my car.
The only positive scenario you get for your car breaking. |

The newer BMW centers do not hand wash cars. They use BMW approved brush machine washes. The brushes are not old style bristle but rather made up of cloth / micro fibre materials that use liberal amounts of water and approved soap materials. Mark Last edited by mjsbmw; 12-14-2011 at 07:59 AM.. |

You'll never convince me that those don't scratch your car. Most hand washes with half the pressure leave fine scratches that add up to a mess, especially noticeable on a dark car.

car. B. The reason hand washes scratch the paint is because they use the same dirty soap water all day. In order for it not to scratch, they would need to constantly replace the soapy water and replace the cloths/ hand towels used to apply the soap. That would waste time and money.. |
