1976 BMW 2002 - 99k Original Miles - Great resto/mod
Hey guys - I hate to do it, but I'm putting up my beloved 1976 BMW 2002 for sale. I just ordered a new M3, and need to make way for it in the garage. The car is painted in a very unique color, BMW Individual Atlantis Metallic (Paint Code 399). It runs extremely well and sounds great. Very solid. I've taken it on road trips, driven it to work, and showed it at various cars and coffee and other enthusiast meets in the area. I am the third owner. The car has ~99,000 original miles and about 6,000 miles on rebuild. It's a 4 speed manual transmission. An overall well sorted BMW 2002. Things that are great: +A rare sunroof car! No leaks! +Korman Autoworks header and exhaust +Weber carburetor +Nardi steering wheel and shift knob +New gas tank +New fuel line +New tie rod assemblies +New Sony stereo with Bluetooth Streaming and custom built speaker boxes in the footwells +Good service history dating back to the day it was delivered. +Records show thousands of dollars put into this car over the years. +Since I have had the car, I've put over $3,000 in improvements. +Rust has been repaired in the rear shock towers, and some other small areas +Brand new tires +Trunk support brace added +Battery also relocated to trunk +New-er ignition +Center exhaust +Starts up on the first turn +Brand new Esty carpet +Car cover included +Beautiful paint color, in great condition. Things that need to be addressed: +The headliner is the original and while its in decent shape, it could be replaced. +The speedo doesn't seem to work consistently. +There are a couple of small tears in the upholstery +There are a couple of small areas of the paint that aren't perfect. +There is a hairline crack in the rear tail light. +There are some small areas of over-spray from the paint job. The car has had a recent complete inspection by RRT Racing (a BMW specialist) in Northern Virginia. You will be hard pressed to find a 2002 that runs and sound as great as this one. People love it - and it turns heads. Everywhere you go people will give you thumbs up and take pictures. It really is a neat little ride. This car was delivered (originally Fjord Blue) on December 3, 1975. I'm the third owner of this car - the first owner kept it until 1987; the second owner kept it until 2013. I'm going to miss it, but I'll have to wait until I get a bigger garage to get another one. I am looking for the right buyer; someone that's a car or BMW enthusiast and can appreciate the raw driving experience that this 2002 offers. I'm going to be patient to find someone, and it needs to be the right person. I would be happy to coordinate shipping - and if it is in the continental U.S., I'll split it with you if you use my recommended transportation company (I get no kickback or anything, I just know and trust this company. As a matter of fact, he's the one that delivered the car to me originally). The car is sold as-is, with no warranty implied or provided. I'm looking for $22,000, o.b.o. And again, it has to be someone that I know will care for the car. I have the title in hand. |
