non xi model to xi conversion possible?

just a thought that passed my mind, would it be difficult to swap bits into a non xi model?

as in the u.k we dont get the 4x4 version of bmw's in the usual 3-5-7 series as yet i think....

Yes, the xDrive is available in the UK. It would be far less expensive to buy the car with it, than try to add it after. There far too many parts that are different.

the conversion im sure is alot of work and very expensive. It'll make more sense to purchase a car with x-drive rather then do a conversion. of course trade your car in.

xDrive wasn't available in the UK on the E90. Although now you can get the F30 with xDrive.
