Oil build up on turbo waste gate? Pics inside
Was changing my spark plugs the other day and noticed a bit of oil spray build up on top of the rear turbo waste gate, looking down from the engine bay.
I have also had a very small watery/oily drip from my IC plumbing (for 2yrs at least, hardly noticeable) and I noticed a small watery oil drip from the rear DP. Not sure if all related, but thinking so. Car runs solid, pulls hard, no codes. 2007 AT @ 61k. Is this build up normal over time? Does it indicate the need to replace/service something? The very reputable service shop I use claims this is not uncommon for N54s, but didn't offer much advice. |

Oil is coming out of rear intake pipe going to turbo, its blown off by the vlavecover/pcvsystem into the rear inlet common problem. maybe a bad gasket on the turbo compressor to intake pipe
