Warped Valve Cover?!

So I brought my car to a reputable BMW shop to get my valve cover gasket changed out since it was leaking.

I was told they went through 3 gaskets and was still getting a leak then they concluded that the valve cover was warped.

I've never heard of such thing in my entire life so I was wondering if any of you guys on here had heard of or experienced this at all...

You should have them show you with a straight edge where the warpage is.

Has your car overheated from a failed water pump? I hear this is possible if your engine sees very high temperatures when the water pump fails and you continue to drive it.

I did but used a light to see where the light output would go when putting the VC on a flat surface. It was closer to the rear passenger side.

They told me it is a common problem with my car bc they had like 2 extra VCs laying around that they just used to replace mine with no charge.

But of course when that finished, something else decides to start leaking.
