def codes: passive tank level sensor, pressure build up possibility?

Hi guys,

In the process of finding a 335d and one showed up today that has a couple problems.

The def tank was exchanged with xemodex to replace the temp sensor, but the car now gives codes for tank level sensor and pressure build up possibility. Not sure what the second one is, google is not giving me anything.

Are these codes due to the sensors being bad or urea crystallization mucking things up?

In regards to disabling the system, is it something that has to be tuned out, ie the ecu removed from the car to do the tuning?

thanks guys, and I hope ill be in a 335d sooner rather than later, even with the documented problems these cars have

That's the same problem I had. The sensors just get crystallized and give false level readings. Eventually you'll get no restart countdown from 999 miles when the car "thinks" it running out of def.

Yeah you have to pull the dde out and send it to a reputable tuner. In your case due to faulty emissions it'll all have to be alphabetized.

the owner mentioned that the tank has been drained and rinsed and the codes come back a month later.

What do you mean by alphabetized?

Xemodex has a lifetime warranty on their tanks so if you don't want to get a tune you should be able to just send it back. Warranty might not convey to a new owner though
