Selling 335i MSport - Help with price?

Hi guys,

I am looking at selling my 335i, and wanted some advise as to the price i should be looking at.

It's actually a 335i SE but with the full MSport kit - steering wheel, shadowline trim, wheels, bodykit etc

It is unfortunately a CAT D insurance write off (bodywork damage and repaired). I had the car fully inspected before buying off the last owner by DEKRA.

It is a 2006 (56) plate car.

53k, FSH, 19" MV4 with Bridgestone RF's, Paddleshift, Pro Nav, Logic 7, Electric Memory Seats, Rear PDC, Bluetooth Phone Prep, Voice Control.

What price should i be looking to list at?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Phil

I would say £9k.

There are some sub 60k mile 335i coupes on autotrader at dealers for £11-13k.

So being realistic the Cat D makes it worth around £6-9k.
The M-Sport kit will make it more desirable though and push it to the top end of that I would guess.

Only problem you may have is insurance and finance can be a tricky, finance because it is a cat d and insurance as it is heavily modified.
It needs to be declared as an SE with loads of extras.

if you have photos of the repair work before and after it will make it a lot easier to get a decent price, maybe 75% of what it would sell as non cat D.

Without details of the damage you will probably get less as its the unknown unknown of what type of damage it had.

Is it a coupe or a saloon?

Yeh, is it a Coupe or saloon. I said £9k if it is an E92. If it's an E90/91 i reckon £7k ish.

It's a coupe guys.

i've actually just sold it for £12k, so it seems that it may have been worth more than we all thought!

You're help is much appreciated. I now have to start the hunt for a DCT M3

Thanks again,

Phil

I think that's a very good piece of business on your behalf. I couldn't have seen much beyond the £9k others had quoted, although £10k was the first number that sprung to mind when I saw your original post so had this still been a 'how much' thread, my answer would have been '9-10k....'

That's good news for everyone who might be selling anyway, because if people are still prepared to buy then that can't possibly be a bad thing.

You've done exceptionally well there, I wouldn't have put it over 10k either based on the cat d aspect.
