Need help to reset service items.
I have a 2006 330xi with navigation that is out of warranty. A local mechanic used to work for BMW and he did the break fluid change and annual state inspection that showed up on my service menu. I have no problem getting the service items on the nav screen using the i Drive and had no problem changing the date of my next inspection, but cannot figure out how to resolve the brake fluid service light. Thank you in advance!

I don't have idrive, so I use the turn signal stock and the odometer reset button instead. Not sure if having idrive changes this method. It's been a while since I've done it and there's definitely more detailed instructions on this site if you search, but I think it goes a little something like this:
Put key in and push ignition without foot on brake. Once any warning/service/error lights finish popping up, push and hold odometer reset until an oil can light pops up. Then (still holding od reset, i think) use toggle on stalk until you find the icon you are looking for. Once found, push button at end of stalk, then maybe push again to confirm. |
