It's a cliche but the wait is going to be more than worth it. By the way, how did you find out that the cars were discharged?

The first is mine. The second is by tracking the Bill of Lading #. It goes on like that for pages upon pages.

Side note: BMW separates the wax from the wash runoff water and reuses it. Corporate recycling in action! Anyhow, to continue, small option items are usually installed here such as floormats and CD Changers. Also, if any body damage is found (from scratches to crushed panels), the VPC has a full factory BMW body shop to make all necessary repairs/replacements. Otherwise, if all is well, it is loaded aboard a protected truck or railcar and sent off to the dealer.

That was interesting about the floor mats in the VPC. I just emailed my dealer today asking if he could throw in the carpet mats as well. (He is already throwing in the rubber all seasons)

Kind of cant believe that BMW's dont come with standard mats. WTF???

Holy SH! When I got back from lunch, this was the message from my CA waiting in my inbox:

"Hey,

Your car has been loaded onto the truck and is on its way to the dealership...it should be here on Monday. Can you stop in today, tomorrow or Saturday to finish-up the paperwork???"

That was pretty quick. If all goes to plan, that means it got from NY to Boston in 4 days. So the total, order to delivery: about 5 1/2 weeks.

Have you guys heard anything???

Also he asked me to sign papers before seeing the car. IMO this is a big no no. Wouldnt you guys agree that I should make sure the car is in top condition/has everythign I ordered before signing ANYTHING?

I'd definitely see the car before signing the papers. Hell, I'm going to take mine out for a spin before I sign anything as well.

But if your car made it out of the VPC that quickly, chances are there isn't anything wrong. Better safe than sorry, though.

I just diddnt want to sign, and then the car shows up, and hes like, oh, no sports package. LOL. I think thats the safe bet.

Quick question for you guys, you talk about signing after you see the car, and I think that's a VERY good idea. Do they expect any money before you sign to order it, or is everything due at signing?

My dealer was $0 to order. So everything will be due at signing. He was actually really laid back about this.

Some dealers may ask for a deposit to show interest in the car, to discourage people who just "throw out car orders" and are not serious about buying a BMW.

The other way to look at a deposit is: it will be that much less when you sign and put down your final down payment

True, just curious if I needed all of my signing money immediately, all at the end, or what. I'd rather not give them any of my money until they give me my car, but we'll see. I'm not really to worried about it, it's not like they are going to take it and run.

The 800 number said my vehicle was in transit but didn't specify to where. I set a tentative appointment to get my car next Wednesday but my CA said it should be there by Tuesday.

My dealer required $2000 down. I thought it was a bit steep but decided to try to haggle with him over other things.
