My experience....
Farnborough efficient but expensive.
Park lane have great selection of used cars (as they owned by BMW themselves), and was cheapest for my 330d coupe. Have to pay to park though.
Chigwell (actually Loughton) good service but real expensive.

I bought my car from Barons Farnborough (Michael Sapsford). Good level of service.

Had a minor window trim problem fixed at Carrs BMW Bury St Edmunds. They bodged the first attempt and snapped the plastic window trim piece, but express ordered in a replacement part for the next day and sorted it out.

i go this impression when i went to sunningdale last week.. although an unshaven, 20 something in shorts, flip flops and what amounted to a tank top is probably not what they want in their show room on a saturday morning

i did take pleasure in looking like a tramp though, hah

Sorry about these experiences, I would hope that the person involved wasn't intentionally trying to come across as arrogant. If you ever need anything please don't hesitate to PM me and I will be happy to have one of my team mates look after you.

Best Regards!

I've got to hand it to Wood in Bournemouth. I always turn up in shorts and sandles looking like a scruffy James May but they are always really good. They always treat me like I am just about to spend £50k on a car. Shame that they are so inflexible about their servicing costs.

Good all round mostly from the ones i've been to

Scotthall pretty good, Coopers were very helpful as were Berry in Chiswick, Sytner High Wycombe Generally on the Whole were pretty good, Sales guys as a whole are ace, way more helpful than the service guys for sure. If i need something sorted, just go back to the guy who sold me the car - End result it gets done, quickly, no fuss. Service just seem to try and cook up reasons why it cant be done. Other than that pretty good.

One very bad experince though

Sytner Solihull - One of the rudest experiences in my life! Young cocky sales guy prooved very sarcastic and didnt even take me seriously, neither did the woman on reception. Clearly took one look at the way i was dressed and my age and immediatly made there own prejudicial judgement there and then before speaking to me - Not the way to sell cars

I can safely say I will not recommend Sytner Solihull to anyone

Safe to say of the few the dealers i go into now most of them dont make the same assumption anymore, Although to be fair most customers in my local Sytners are like tripple my age so its not surprising they look at me a bit oddly.

As long as your friendly though then most of them will make time for you, just get to know one or two people as a point of reference in the off chance that you get someone else that doesnt feel like being too helpful. There will always be one or two that look @ me & think i will be there to test pilot everything rather than actually own one.

Granted, If you get one like the guy i met in Sytner Solihull, voice your displeasure pretty vocally in his direction, i highly recommend it

I've done this before, unfortunately some people can be really great 99% of the time and then just let the whole team down with their lazy attitudes.

In future, if you ever want a me to arrange for one of my favourites to look after you personally please do let me know.

Sytner Nottingham, bought a few cars from them over the years but the last couple of years the service has gone from austere to absolute friendliness, from the reception always a smile and special mention to James for Alpina sales, sadly leaving next week, brothers Mark & Simon & not forgetting Matt & newbie Roland, just perfect.

On a side note I managed 10% discount on mats for the car after a winge about the wonderful discount offered on this site.

Can't leave with out a mention to Deb, and Simon in reception always been well looked after.

Another dealer who we recently used was Stratstones Derby, got my good lady a 123D Auto, ex demo and beautifully presented, could not fault the deal, or the staff.

My experience of a few dealerships when I bought my car recently:

Sytner Harold Wood (local dealer):
Great experience with sales (Justin Stanford), polite, knowledgable and helpful; eager to get me to test drive cars I was interested in. Unfortunatley did not have the car I wanted at the right price.
Service: Mixed feelings till now. £15 charge/day for courtesy car when car went to them for warranty work and the work was delayed. Satisfactory dealings with staff.

Stratstone Tyneside:
Had a great car (on paper) for considerably lower price than other places. Called them and the sales guy convinced me to drive all the way there (from London). Got there and the car was poorly presented

Sytner Solihull:
Sales person there was the rudest I have come across ever. His attitude was something along the lines of lets only bother talking if you are going to buy the car and he hadnt even bothered showing me the car at that point. Would not buy from them ever .

Sytner Sutton Coldfield:
Reasonable experience with sales. Some pressure sales tactics but got a reasonable deal in the end.

Bowker BMW Preston:

Bought my car from there. Was helpful.

Big thanks and recommendation to Stephen James @ Sidcup / Ruxley.

Had dealings with them before and they have been a bit so / so.

Matt on the service desk is excellent as was my technician, Steve. Had a Dension Gateway 500 and they had problems programming the car when it was in for a load of other work.

Really pragmatic and helpful attitude towards the problem. . .unlike what I have experienced before.

Thanks guys.

Cooper Sevenoaks----not a BMW showroom, Minis only, but it does have a servicing facility for BMWs.
Stephen in the service department did a really great job on my behalf when I had a problem with cracked rear wheels.
Fought hard against BMW on my behalf and delivered the goods. Able to fit the new wheels within just a few hours of hearing from .

Got my 325D M Sport from Cooper BMW Tunbridge Wells

Have brought from them a few times now and other than the usual price hurdles they will offer a good price. Just get another 2 quotes first from other dealers. Why would you spend over £30K without getting 3-4 quotes first.

The finance is crap unless you shop around, then they will match.
