I didn't get the clip with mine however I just did a slight mod using a small amount of 3/4" heater hose, 2 hose clamps and the stock blow-by connection.

I cut the stock plastic tubing off of the stock connection that attaches to the inlet then joined it to the BSH connector using the heater hose. Worked like a charm and I have no concerns that the hoses will come apart since I am using the stock connection.

Overall I am very happy with this OCC.
Very interested. Could you post up a picture?

Will do however I won't have a chance to post the pics until the weekend.

I am sure you can pull both ends off the stock blow-by tubing as opposed to cutting the hose. I ended up snapping the inlet side the 1st time around so I had to order a new piece from Tischer ($30). I will post pics of the snapped piece as well.

Bent the aluminum gutter material to look like the one Former posted. How do you all think it looks?
For those that cannot wait, that does look very close to what I have.

I haven't checked yet to be honest. The car was taken apart almost immediately after this was completed for some other mods. LOL.

ud expect that much blow by ???

ring sealing would be terrible and power would be non-existent ...

plus with heavy blow by -- to the magnitude ur talking about, youd have caked the intake valves and fouled some spark plugs --

id check in a few thousand miles, for a significant amount to build up -- if at all .. some cars have more blow by than others .. no real rule of thumb to measure by..

Nope. I thought at least a mist, but so far, 1300 miles and she is still clean. Which is great, and I agree that you really dont want excessive blow by building up as it it is telling you something isnt properly seated or wearing. Tell you the truth, i dont care if the can stays clean its entire life span.

Thanks

Synergy, I have never seen or had the opportunity to review the RSD so it would not be fair for me to comment on it. I can tell you that the BSH Oil Catch Can is tremendously well constructed and I could imagine there would be a better OCC. I am not saying there aren't others of equal quality either. For me, I wouldn't change out by BSH at this point because the quality is there and the more I learn about BSH, the more I like them as a company. I think they will be a very good "get" for the N54 community.

An OCC is recommended even stock - blow by is an issue on all N54 platforms and can have long term effects on the efficiency of the charge air cooling system.

For the price it is worth the safety. This car coats pipes fast with oil and there are tons of possible long term problems from that.
