Retrofit folding M3 mirrors

Just bought folding M3 mirrors for my E90
My car is 2009 330i without folding mirror option
So the question is to retrofit the M3 folding mirrors do I have an extra wiring for the folding option
The other question is how to code the car from non folding to folding option (the codes)I already bought the coding cable

Thanks guys in advance

Just from a little Googling it seems like not the easiest retrofit. From a coding perspective you need to add $313 to your VO, possibly others. As for wiring I have no idea, this is only a coding subforum after all.

The door wiring harness for cars with folding mirrors is different than the one for non-folding - at the very least you will need the correct wiring harnesses + the switch for the door - and of course, then they will need coded...

Read this thread, http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...49#post2687787

I think all you need is a new window switch (with the folding button) and to have it coded for the feature by a dealer Progman machine. GL

And according to that thread (and the link to another site posted in it) you have to check the DS door wiring to ensure you have the correct harness.

Some cars that have memory seats and the auto-dip feature may already have the correct harness present - and then all that would be needed would be the switch and coding.

I've had my door panels off on the 09' E92 several times and I can attest to the fact that my car does NOT have the correct wires present for folding mirrors (I do not have memory seats or auto dip either).

Something has to send power from switch to FRM and back to mirror...

When checking on real.oem, there are definite different part numbers for the door harness depending on the options included.

Let me know if you decide to sell the mirrors and can't get it to work.

Wink Mission Completed

Gents,
Finally retrofitted M3 Mirrors on my E90, all you gonna need is
1-OEM M3 mirrors (Make sure while ordering if it is for E90 or E92 they are different)
2-New door switch with folding option button
3-Coding (I already code it to close and open with key fob)

No extra wirring needed

^^ Right, well that makes sense (door harness).

My mirrors, fully optioned (power/folding/dimming) have 5 wires going to the driver mirror and 3 to the pass mirror in case that helps anyone.

Selling them if anyone's interested, check my threads.

So it looks like all I will need is OEM M3 mirrors? I already have the folding option on my car.

Could you post a DIY with pics for this? Past threads seems to indicate that this was in the "pretty difficult" basket because of compatability/wiring issues.

Great to hear a success story!
