Vacuum Question ?!

Hey guys !!

I don't know if this topic has been covered yet (i know i've seen vacuum threads for HOUSEHOLD appliances), but which vacuum do you guys use for your CARS?

i've been carrying around the normal big vacuum to clean my car, but it's a hassle adjusting and dragging that thing around. I've been searching for a vacuum that is smaller and more convenient, but strong enough to still pick up the furs (yes i have puppies, and yes i do smoke in the car so the ashes land everywhere sometimes) and get the job done.

I'm hoping to find something good for maybe around $100. I've seen some car vacuums at autozone and target, but i feel like they'd just be a waste of money. I know DYSON is notorious for their vacuums, but $400+ vacuums just to clean my interior seems a bit pricey..

Anyways thanks for looking !!

PS

is anyone getting the DROID MAXX??
Or Just waiting for the Iphone 5s?!

4/5 stars and it seems like a few people aren't too happy about the quality of the product..
Thank you i'll keep that in mind but for that price maybe it's better if i invest in dyson..
But then again $400 for vacuum is

haha

I have that exact same Bissell Garage pro. It's really convenient and I'm able to give my cars a 5 minute touch up easily so they are always clean. If the filter gets dirty, it doesn't pick up too well, I'd bet that's what some of the bad reviews are about, but for normal dirt, it's great. I use it to clean my garage floor too. The suction is okay for regular use. For really dirty hairy cars though, I use an old Kenmore I keep in the garage.

I bought a handheld rechargeable Dyson. That thing is the biggest POS ever! It lasts about 7 minutes on the charge, sometimes it doesn't even recharge overnight. You can't maneuver it by the seats. It smells even with new filters. Biggest waste of $.

Weird, mine has none of those problems. I mean yea the battery life kind of sucks, but it's a cordless vacuum that runs at pretty high output, so it's to be expected.

I would consider 4/5 stars pretty damn good for amazon. Although I think I got it for a bit less on woot or something. Anyways I love mine, only issue I had with it is that the plastic hose extension was very flimsy and broke shortly after I got it. Other than that has worked great for me.

If you just want something cheap get a regular old shop vac. You can get those at Homedepot for like $50 and they suck like a mofo. That's what I used before I got this one, but I just didn't care for having to take it out, plug it in, maneuver it around the cars etc.

I use an Electrolux sanitare commercial canister vac, it's pretty compact and sucks hard (in a good way). I think it was around $120 or so on Amazon...would definitely recommend.

Since I don't have a garage or an outlet to easily plug a vacuum into, I have one of these that works just fine:

It was around $30 at Autozone.

Seriously! Since when did shop-vacs get exiled out of the garage?

Metro Vac N'Blo is the best for auto use. I have seen it used at several dealers. It will pick out pet hair and about anything else. But it is very loud.

$30 this is getting better... haha
i'm just going to be patient and keep all of my options open because i don't want to keep buying different vacuums and later regret that i should've just invested in a dyson

but if this small convenient looking $30 can get the job done..

I just use the vacuum line from the brakes
If it doesn't suck enough, I just rev the engine to roughly 2500rpm
Don't forget to change to filter after your are done

I'd say invest in a regular Dyson if you have carpets to vacuum in your place, especially if you have pets. It's almost disturbing how much dirt, pet fur, and other crap they suck out of your carpets compared to other vacuums. For vacuuming out cars and other dirty jobs, wet/dry vacs are key.
