Vorsteiner V-35 hood questions
Hi fellas,
I am looking for a good method to install the hood shock mounts. Please share your ideas because I need to fabricate something. Also, has anyone installed the hood that has the shroud in place at the windshield side of the engine bay? (the long peice where the cabin filter goes). I have had that off the car for a while now and tried installing it with the hood but found out that it doesnt allow the hood to close. Is this just me? |

How much louder is the engine ticking / noises than the stock hood?
Also, has anyone put one on in a high rain climate? If so, does the front gutter slot pose any problems drainage wise.. thx. |

i believe with all vorsteiner hoods, the stock shocks cant be mounted/installed onto the hood or it'll def damage the hood.

You don't want to use both stock shocks, just use one. Or you can use both M3 hood shocks which are not as strong as OEM as they are built for the lighter aluminum hood.
As for mounting it to the Vorsteiner hood, I believe there was a fellow member that posted about a bracket his shop fabricated which dissipated the force across a wider area to prevent warping. It was quite a good design but I can't seem to find it. |

At the moment, I have removed both stock hood shock mounts.
I'm getting a workshop to fabricate a metal (aluminum) stand to fit onto either the right or left side of the engine bay's shock mount pins, ala Japanese cars. This stand will be kept in the boot, when not in use. Another thing that I'll be adding are metal grilles (same pattern as our lower bumper grilles) to the bottom of the vents via screws. Hope to catch leaves and whatever. Once in a while, I'll be able to unscrew the grilles and remove the crap that accumulated in the vents. This way, I hope to prevent the leaves from entering the engine bay. |
