Misfire cylinder 6 with tune +tuner code help!
I have been getting misfires on cylnder 6 with tune only.
When i take the tune off it doesnt come up. The misfires comes up when i scan the car after getting a service engine soon light while full throttle and using the AT kickdown. It happens when the car shifts close to redline so to avoid it i need to shift before 6k rpm ish. If i let it go to redline around 6.5k the car throws a SES light and car shakes alot after restarting the car the car is fine again until shifting at redline. 5/10 times when this happens the air manipulation code is thrown as well thats when the SES light doesnt turn off even after the engine is restarted. Thats when i need to delete the tuner code than the SES light is gone. I had coils and spark plugs replaced by dealer about 7k miles ago. Only mods i have on the car is a DCI and Forged DV and Procede and a JB3.(Both tune does same thing car limps when shifted at redline.) Car has 62k miles and AT trans. I brought it to the dealer many times with the misfire code and they just delete the code and tells me the cars fine and the code doesnt throw again. So it oly happens with a tune. Anyone know what the misfire cylinder 6 is for? Only thing that wasnt changed on my car was injectors i think. Could that be it? If so how much are they and how hard is it to change them. Any info would be appriciated. Thanks

I assume it runs fine stock? When running procede, map, stage and settings? How many days did you let adapt? Jb3, again map and how long did you let it adjust? I know dealer swapped coils and plugs, but you may want to swap coils around just in case. My car did the same on procede 10-9 maps. No issues with jb3 1.4 r85 . Swapped back and misfires. Looking forward to trying v4 and the jb3 2.0

It's a big possibility. May want to run some injector cleaner through the system and see if it helps! My dealer wanted codes or faults before even thinking of changing injectors. I ended up buying 1 and paid them to install/ calibrate and it didn't solve my issue.

Car shakes like crazy after throwing the light/misfire. Feels like cars about to stall if im on idle and shakes when accerlerating. Restart the car and car is fine.
JB3 1.3 map 3/4 all the same. Procede 9-9 map and most recent map on default all the same. Throws same code at shifting at redline.

I had the same thing on map 7, then it graually creeped down and would happen on map1. I am changing the plugs soon so hopefully that will fix it. It was on #6 at first not I get it on #5 and #1.
I really hope it is not injectors becuase they are several hundred a piece.

Shouldn't be that hard. All they need to do is pop the engine cover off, look at the 6 digit code on each injector and plug it into the computer. Easy to do with a GT1.

I also have this problem sometimes in cylinder 5 and 6. I also get a long crank every 3-4 days when the car is cold. I think you may want to try raising the up shift softening just in case you are getting a boost spike when the car shifts. I find it odd that all the people that experience this all report the same cylinder miss fire. My plugs are only 2,000 miles old and my fuel pump is 7,000 miles since replaced.

I think there is a software update that you can get from BMW that changes the LPFP voltage to supply the HPFP with more fuel to solve the long crank problems but I am not sure if the two are related or if its a coincidence that I started getting long cranks right after my first miss-fire code. Does anyone have long canks sometimes as well as miss-fire cylinder 6?

I think there was a documented issue with the 6AT + Procedess which may recreate a misfire near redline that should have been resolved on a firmware/map update.
