If you run DPs without an O2 sim..

Other than having the CEL on when you turn off the car, are there any other problems?

I already have a TMPS light on, so a CEL beep wouldn't kill me...

But if it causes some sort of problem... that's a different story

If you had to take the car for SMOG test, you would fail the ODBII test. Other than the annoying light, that's about it.

I won't need smog for a while (2009 car)

and even if I did, I will always pass it... my porsche was leaking oil and it smelled like crap before I had a chance to fix everything but I just had it passed lol
When it comes to stuff like that, knowing people really helps...

but wait, if you had 02 sims it'll pass? really?

I am running my car without 02 sims right now, AR Catless downpipes, and I got the CEL and it says "Reduced Power!" but I do not notice the reduced power...it feels more powerful.

If you have a CEL light, you automatically fail the test.

Yes, I know that...

but I mean, if you put the O2 sim, and the CEL is off, and they run smog at a shop where you don't know the people.. your car still passes??

dont do that

just get O2 simms and dont be a cheapo

I believe the car actually does pull timing/power as a result as well.

u fail cat readiness and the ECU gets mad at you.

BMS carries a downpipe fix that retunes the ECU for high flow downpipes. It's not a sim as the O2 sensors remain connected and fully functional. Without the downpipe fix the ECU will go in to a low timing mode and hurt performance.

Not that I wanted to be cheap lol

If/when i get DP, i WILL get a fix.. but it may be a week or 2 or so because sometimes you can't buy both at the same time, make sense?

and it'll be hard to have a DP in the garage and not want to install them asap
I think you guys can understand that...

yup sure is

I ran BMW 02 simms for a long time, no issues except for the one time I was a bonehead and forgot to reinstall when I was playing with my old Helix Attache.

I agree.
Not only will you get a CEL but the ecu will reduce power as well.
Driving a car in reduced power mode is sketchy.
