Thanks for the detailed writeup. I just installed a 9006 HID 4300K conversion from HighPerformanceBulbs.com on my 2010 e90 msport today. Taking my time in the afternoon heat, I was able to finish in just over an hour.

Thx again!

Thanks for the write up. Swapped out my bulbs for yellow fogs within 20 minutes. Wasn't even necessary to jack up the car.

Bulb life?

Just curious about the bulb life -

Are the original bulbs still working?
How often do you use your fog lights?

Thanks!

Bulbs are still working. I use them pretty much whenever it's dark. I'm on the road to work just after 5, so I definitely use them every morning.

Thanks; looks like I'll be buying them shortly.

Thanks also for the DIY Guide.

THanks for this. I was able to simply remove the two screws from the wheel well, and work my hand in. The MTEC 4350K bulbs match very well with the new LUX 5000K AE.

A little new at this, so don't flame me.
So these should work for a 2011 335i Coupe, right?

As long as the fogs in an '11 are still H8's they'll fit. I did a quick check on the Sylvania fitment website and it looks like they're the same.

Thx for the quick and kind response!
I will check into it. I assume the
conversion kit is needed and
attaches somehow to the exterior
of the fixture. Thx again!

Thanks. I did the same thing to change the fog light bulbs. I only removed the two screws from the wheel well, pull back the plastic liner and work my hand in to change the bulbs. I do have small hands though and that helps!

Noncom23 - you lost me on the conversion kit...you should be able to just swap the bulb out without the need for a conversion kit. You do currently have fog lights right?

I didn't include a pic of the bulbs in the DIY, but below is just a generic shot of an H8 bulb I grabbed off the web. This is what you should be swapping out. Pull the wiring harness off old bulbs, twist counter-clockwise, then pull out. Reverse the steps to replace with the new bulbs.

The wiring harness should fit snug, but shouldn't be extremely difficult to remove. Are you depressing the plastic keepers on the sides while you pull down? If not, it will be extremely difficult remove the harness...
