I notice this at time when I'm slowing down, coming to a stop.

I'm in D at this point....

At slower speeds coming to a stop I notice that either the car shifts really hard causing a jerk or the breaks loosen all of a sudden causing it to jerk. It happens between 1-5 mph, other than that there is no issue with accelerating or deaccelerating.

Mine does that in DS mode. When the RPM jumps, my car jerks. D is very smooth.

i do notice that my car's brakes are "sticky" when parallel parking. I let off the brakes and there is a full 1 second delay. not all the time, but it is a usual occurrence.

What you're describing sounds more like DS behavior, when the car will downshift to 1st before coming to a complete stop. In D, it starts from 2nd.

It could be that...i have no idea since I can't see the M screen in D mode.

I'll see if there is a change in RPM when it jerks.

It shouldn't do that coming to a stop not matter what mode you're in. Only time you would get a sudden jerk coming to a stop is if you were in manual mode and you downshifted prematurely. You should take it in for service. If it happens often it's easy to show the tech's.

Mine does it also. Been to the dealer 3 times, they cannot find anything but it is annoying as hell. The car does exactly what you describe, sudden lurch when just about to stop. I took the technician for a ride last week and could not recreate it. Seems like it does it more when cold??? But it can reoccur at any time. This cannot be right I have 4 other BMW's and never had this issue. I will figure it out and when I do I will let you all know.

I find that resetting the transmission does help a little bit. I get those lurching when I am about to stop...especially when Im going on an incline. I have the GM transmission and I am sure its worse than the 335s with the ZF.

Went for a drive, its easily replicated lol. But as far as I can see, no is no change in RPMs at all...braking issue?

Since I'm now on the CPO warranty, how does that work at a BMW service center? Same as standard warranty?

Mine does the same thing. It is NOT the brakes system. I have reset the adaptive values for the transmission multiple times! The car drives (and stops) like a dream for a little bit afterwards but the bump always seems to come back. I would venture a guess and say it is a software defect...because the problem goes away when the adaptive values are reset...but then constantly returns. I am still looking for a permanent solution...

I've noticed this in D mode, doesn't do it in DS mode. Usually always happens when I don't fully stop and give it more than 25% throttle to accelerate again from 1-3mph. It's as if it's being slammed into gear. If you are very light on the throttle or in DS mode it doesn't happen. I just thought it was normal, and since this many folks exerience the same thing its starting to sound like it (or a software defect like zigsman pointed out).

I replaced the transmission mechatronics sleeve, seal adapter, changed the fluid and reset the adaptive values all at the same time a few weeks ago. Since then, I have only put a couple hundred miles on my car, but it seems to have fixed the problem. Before I did this, the hard shift issue would re-surface after approximately 20-50 miles. So far, so good. Price wise, it was only a couple of hundred dollars, and the VAST majority of that was in the new transmission pan/filter and oil. The mechatronics sleeve and seal adapter were less than $20 combined, so if you re-use your oil and pan, you can fix this yourself for about $20.


UPDATE:

First off, this problem is NOT NORMAL, it is a defective solenoid in the mechatronics. I found after driving for a couple of months the "bump" came back so I replaced all of the solenoids in the mechatronics. The job is fairly simple and the parts cost $455 (on sale right now) so if you feel inclined, see my other post on this topic:
