it did and the color match is perfect. my dad used to work in a body shop and has painted a few cars in our garage and they all came out great so i was confident in his work but i saved a lot of $$ plus i bought the bumper new for $250 on ecs tuning with free shipping how much better does it get

It looks great. I passed on a rear bumper because of the PDC holes but I may think twice if I find another one. Great job and kudos for having the balls to take on the challenge.

looks good.
i had PDC on my rear mtech. the body shop cut plastic out of a spare honda bumper and filled the holes with that and some sort of oem material filler. after the paint, it looks like there were never holes there at all. |

the only thing is fillers usually crack and you can see the original hole through because the bumper flexes and filler cant

actually, dude said he used a filler that dries as the same plastic material that the bumper is made of. its been fine so far and has been on the car for over a month. he owns a collision shop so im sure he knows what hes doing.

as long as it worked for you thats what matters, i thought of this since i the materials were easy to find and i had a lathe in my garage so each "sensor" took about 5 minutes each to make.

awesome solution OP. could you provide the details on the abs plastic rods you used? What size were the rods? how deep is the sensor fill?

this is the link to the plastic i ordered:
http://www.interstateplastics.com/Bl...r=0.750&dim2=1 i ordered 2ft to account for many screw ups but it went right the first time and i have a lot left over. Each dummy sensor is about the size of the real sensors so they are about 2 inches long. PM me if you want some made or just have questions, im down to help out forum guys |
