Radio reception

Is it just me? Since the digital switchover hit the midlands, my radio reception is shite, particularly on Radio 1. This is not localised to just my bit of the Midlands, this seems to be everywhere from Leeds down to Reading?

I dunno if I've missed a setting, or changed something relevant, but FM reception is shite - it fades in and out and doesn't seem to want to grab a better frequency?

Hi Cafe,

Try turning off the TP function (leaving RDS on) if you can live without it if only for a short test period. I cannot say much more than that right now I'm afraid but give it a go and let me know how you get on. It may be something completely different but it may do the trick. Feel free to message me.

Mine is poor but 10x worse if the heated screen is on! Sometimes the whole list of radio stations can disappear as soon as the screen is used. I know they share the elements and there must be a fault, just cant't be arsed to book it in for it to be looked at!

TP is always off, RDS on. This is with heated screen on or off.

I did come out to the car some months ago to find the radio screaming static to itself, so I'm wondering if there is a fault. I can just imagine the convo with the dealer..

I had the exact same problem.

The aerial is within the rear screen and was damaged. Turning on the heated screen badly affected the reception.

The entire rear windscreen had to be replaced under warranty.

The digital switchover had nothing to do with the radio.

mmmm, maybe I should get it fixed under warranty - otherwise could be VERY costly for the next owner....

I suspect my rear screen aerial is damaged as my radio reception is pretty awful.

Only mention it 'cos they obviously had engineers doing "stuff". Cuold've left something unplugged, or something

Sounds like it's a fault with mine then. Thanks.

What happens when you turn on your heated rear screen?
