Dilemmas…I now have 3 cars.
I have moved interstate to a new job and after buying out my novated lease on the 2006 E92 manual Coupe, (Only 70,000 km).
I now also have a company car a Lexus GS300 (Nice car but not a BMW) My wife also has an original 1990 MX5 with only 60,000 genuine km on it. . So thinking about selling both the MX5, she is finding it very hard to part with the MX5 and I don't wnat to part with the BMW, my wife is wanting a Mini (Don’t ask). It is not a financial issue just seems like a waste of money having all these cars. What would I get these days for selling the BMW privately…it is pretty much optioned up: 19” 230 style wheels, iPod connectivity (steering wheel controls) rear blind, sunroof, professional navigation, rear blind, comfort access, heated seats, hi-fi logic 7, rear mirror function always been garaged, immaculate condition always washed at home by me. Might convince my wife on a 135 convertible but I am not fond of the shape. I guess it is not a bad problem |

It looks like I will sell the BMW in February...I have to get the car registered for Victoria (NSW Registration ran out November 1st).
So once I do that and get it detailed I will post it for anyone interested….it really is still as new and very low kms for the year. Will be sorry to see the BMW go, but living in the inner city in Melbourne I find myself almost always on a tram or walking on the weekends so having three cars etc. is not good common sense especially with all the insurance and other costs associated with it and having a fully maintained company car. |

Wow! MX-5 sounds like quite a car. I had a 1990 NA6 for fun but too old with 226k kms. Still ran well but it was past its use by date.
Don't sell your MX-5. And not just because you're wife will never forgive you. Even with my old clanger I often reminisce on warm evenings or early mornings weekends of driving that little under powered smile machine. My old MX-5 is the source of my indifference to my 6MT 320i. It just doesn't shift like the cheap as chips Mazda 5MT with short throw shifter. And as for the GS300... why? If you're getting a Lexus as a company car surely you're senior enough to ask to cash it in and keep your BMW. |
