29.2 vs 32.2 software differences

I took my car 07 335i e90 to be programmed for the alarm I installed. It was suppose to take 1 hour to program the alarm but they ended up keeping the car for 3 hours.

Apparently the computer would not let them program the alarm until my car was updated from 29.2 to 32.2 which took another 2 hours to program.

Can anyone list the changes from 29.2 to 32.2. I keep hearing about the turbo lag issue, would the update correct for that also or is there more to it.
I'm not sure if my car has lag, it does feel like it's not as powerful as I first drove it but that may be just due to getting use to the power.

Does the software update any other features of the car??

Can't tell about other features/bugfixes in 32.2 (BMW has ceased to issue "bugs and feature lists" because people used it as an excuse for frequent updates), but regarding lag, read all about it here:

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showpo...99&postcount=5

If yours is a MY07 and you had v29.2, you had worse lag before the update was applied. You most probably still have a slight turbo lag, though.

Cars from 09/07 are called MY08 already, thus yours has deficient wastegates (not much you can do about that) and needs the "wastegate retrofit" option applied after the upgrade (only possible with ISTA/P, not with Progman). If you did not request that explicitely, you have got the "rattle-fix" which causes lag - but much less than with v29.2 you had before.

Refer your dealer to this SIB and have them follow the instructions to the letter. Don't let them tell you there ain't lag. The fix is available upon a customer complaint basis.

I have had my done and all I can say is my mileage has DROPPED about 20% on average. I drive very easy 98% of the time and have always gotten 30 plus 65mph now I am pushing 25 and always over 23-24 city now in the mid teens. This is BULL! If I don't get it fixed I will file a suit againt BMW. I have had a ton of BMW's 2 went back under consumer law by backs. Been there before! I can live with a littl lag, but I did not buy a car that was designed to have wastegate rattles and lousy MPG. If BMW puts it in writting that this was how they designed the car then I will believe it, besides it will make for good advertising. " we design our cars to rattle and you don't pay more"

All I can say is that my mileage has not changed with any fix I had - and there were several: v27.4 -> v30.0.2 -> v27.4 -> v31.1 -> v32.2.

There is no hidden menu or something where this is displayed. An update can occur invisibly to you when you have a service visit. ED cars, for example are updated upon redelivery at the VPC weeks after initial build.

Only the dealer can tell you the exact version.

yup, you really have to following the directions or your car will still have lag, I have not noticed any other changes.

Version 27.4 gets almost exactly 2 miles per gallon better mileage than v32.2. I have had both versions, each for over 10,000 miles. I drive the exact same route every day and use the same gas from the same station.
