Sound a little steep scoob, the 2007 330d remaps vary from £380 to £934 from 6 companies but i haven't got a price from birds.

Well, it seems like the 730 is really overperforming, 202 at the wheels equals 252 horsepower instead of the quoted 231, and 231
at the wheels equals 289 horsepower, and thats quite good for a 3 litre diesel.

Good observation, If you factor in the 20% Auto TX loss I guess its about right

sorry to be thick

I thought the new 08 ed engines couldnt be mapped yet ? i thought that may be why k.bird quoted so much and advised a lsd at the same time ,I dont drive my 325d much 1300miles since oct but was tempted by a new map just to see what the difference was like .

www.esstuning.com have the 08 map ready since october. New software from 07 to 08 but no problem.

238 rear wheel horsepower will put a smile on your face!

They do have a UK distributor, check their website.

325d chip performance

Hello all

My first post on here,

I was just browsing the Web trying to get a figure for the performance of my 325d. (07 E90)

I opted for the 325d over the 330d as the dealer explained that it was exactly the same car (detuned / chrome tail pipes). I saved £2500 on the purchase price over the equivalent 330d (they included the tailpipes anyway).

I then checked out the different tuning options and went for the Spider system provided by Diesel Tuner Systems - details below.

www.dieseltuning.co.uk
www.dieseltuner.co.uk

The performance increase was superb, really smooth power delivery and even improved economy on a run (if disciplined enough) I have not had it dyno'd and was interested to see what figures were available.

I became more intrigued with the power output today when I followed an 07 535d off a roundabout and stuck with him all the way up to 140mph (then hit another roundabout) So I'm guessing (allowing for 535d 286bhp slightly heavier) that it's quite possible to be achieving 270bhp or so?

Got to say (apologies for bias) if you have the choice of 4cyl or 6cyl it's got to be a 6cyl everytime - smooth delivery, sounds great and a breeze to drive. I would recommend the company above. They fitted my Spider System 3 months ago, Guaranteed it and gave a considerable discount off list, price in exchange for fitting photo's and a review.

Mine was programmed at www.kempower.be when the car had 5100km.
Car came in with 202bhp and 425NM at the crank and went out with 260bhp and 500NM at the crank.

The guy said however that the car needed to come lose a bit more when more km's have been done. But all I can tell is that the car drives really great now

Had my 320D done at kempower, incredible! (205HP, 440NM)

Good to know they don't have any problems chipping the 325D,
will probably be ordering mine soon

What's the mileage you're getting now (l/100km?)

I am getting between 6.5-7l/100km combined highway and short trips.
The car now has 10k km's so I think it will improve a bit more. However 6.5-7l is not bad for a 3L engine. My previously Toyota Avensis was doing 7.5l/100km with a 2l engine.

The ESS chip works great, mine did an indicated 268 km/h at the autobahn at the straights, had 275 slightly downhill

the 3 litre works so effortless and feels so huge and comfortable.
Seems like your car has 245 hp according to that link, Hartge has a 272 hp kit and ESSTUNING a 285 hp kit, that one works great!

Mine seems to be still limited at 250 km/h I was at around 4k rpm in 6th at the time. Next time I passes Kempower, need to ask that they remove the limiter...

440Nm is an awesome amount of torque for the 163hp 320D.

Beautiful sig btw.

hmm i just now realized that it is quite possible to get safety about 270 hp from 325d.because exhausta valves are different in 330d e90 and 325d e90 the 325d will get a bit less after remapped.

325d EDC16 145 kW/197 hv 400 Nm 178 kW/242 hv 550 Nm
330d EDC16 170 kW/231 hv 500 Nm 190 kW/258 hv 600 Nm

My car use exactly the same map as 330d e90 but output is a little less as you can see.

so if someone (ESS or Hartge) first use original 330d remap (my current situation) and then use another map...maybe they would get about 270-280 hp as promised from ESS just a while ago to me....because i know my remapper did only the thing that used the original 330d remapping...

Heres one, maybe they'll run the line up as 320d, 323d, 325d with more power and drop the 330d (ducks for cover!!!!)

At the end of the day all it is is badge engineering anyway
318 = 2 litres 320 = 2 litres 323 = 2 litres
325 = 3 litres 330 = 3 litres and 335 = 3 litres!!!!

Not like the 'olden days' when the badge actually represented what was under the bonnet!!!!!

There's more than just the badge, the 330D has bigger brakes and the engine is different, better injectors etc.
No way a 325D can get to the same level with just a remap.
I asked Hartge and they don't do a 271HP increase for the 325D, guess that was an error.
And ESS doesn't look legit to me, their numbers seem too high to be safe (or real) and the dyno they provide is pretty pointless.

I went for the 325D because of tax reasons, and because the new 245HP 330D can't be tuned yet.
Got up to 260HP and 540NM, and that's quite a bit faster than a standard 330D, but still a little less than a remapped 330D (280HP, 620NM)

I think the 323D (biturbo) will replace the 320D as the "performance" 4cyl diesel, and the 325D will stay as a "budget" 6cyl
The 330D as performance manual option, and the 335D as auto.
