Pen style sucks, don't do it.

I'll save you the trouble of searching the numerous threads on this issue and refer you here:

http://www.paintscratch.com/

It's where I got my touch up paint kit and I've been very satisfied with it.

Does it actually give a clean smooth surface? How does it work on very small chip?

It's not really about the actual paint (although that is important too), but rather the after process which involves wetsanding or using a rubbing compound and then polishing afterward.

Without those two no touch up paint will give you 100% blended-in-smooth-to-the touch surface.

I'm with methodtim, paintscratch.com. I ordered twice from them for 2 different colors and they were almost a perfect match. As others have already mentioned it's more the expertise of the application and then fine tuning to get just right.

For my particular application I need a spray base and a clear.
I believe BMW dealer is more expensive though.

If you need to spray, you need more than touch-up paint.
