e90 Vs e92 335i. Hmm..
Looking to purchase a 335i CPO. Deciding whether or not I'm getting coupe or sedan. Love em both Coupe looks extra sharp to me. Planning on buying one ASAP and need to narrow down on my options.
Wanting to get a fully loaded 07 335i 6mt. Opinions? PS. How are maintenance? I heard sometimes it becomes a pain....... |

coming from a coupe, honestly when i first saw the 3series i was in love with the coupe hands down. Once in a while i would have to stack my car and it's a drag letting people enter the back. It's so frustration, it makes me wanna have a sedan, but it doesn't look at nice as the coupe in my opinion
and maintenance for 335i is horrible :/ |

Let me just tell you. Finding a fully loaded e92 6 MT is almost impossible. I'm currently trying to switch to a MT but having a hard time finding a properly equipped one with an acceptable color combo

do you haul a bunch of people around? if so def get the e90. the e92 has no room in the rear for people, well to sit comfortably that is. I have had both e90 and e92's i prefer the e92 myself.

I love my e92, the rear seats are surprisingly usable. Plus the stock exhaust sounds nicer than the e90

E90... Also you wouldn't go for a 328i? The N52 is going to be more reliable than the N54. Sure not as much power, but cheaper to maintain in the long run if out of warranty. I personally would not own a 335i out of warranty. I couldn't do it.

E92...I lucked into a CPO '07 with 6MT, brushed aluminum, etc. - with 3200 miles on it and got it for about 8K under sticker. Went through the HPFP thing a few time until they put the new part on and now it's solid. I've had e46 4-doors and with those and the new e9x, the coupes (and convertibles) seem to be a little more upscale in the decor dept. That and as mentioned above, the exhaust note is noticeably throatier and louder, 'specially if you do the golf-tee mod. The e90's 4 doors are a nice convenience if you want them, but I love my coupe!

OK, i'll bite. E90s are obviously for more mature women...soccer moms, cougars, etc.
If you don't have people in the rear seat often, I wouldn't be too concerned about seating issues. I am 5'10 and can comfortably sit a 6'0 person behind me. E92 sits lower than E90...E90 looks like it needs to be dropped an inch or two from stock. As for the 6mt, I can't imagine having a sporty car without the manual transmission. It is tricky finding a 6mt with the options you want. I looked across the country for a new one...wound up having to order it from the motherland. Of course the big reliability issue is the HPFP...mine went out at 4800 miles...i'm at 12.5k now with no signs of another failure. Good luck with your search. |
