Wax recommendations for Space Gray e92
I'm compiling a list of items needed to detail my car and im currently stuck on which wax to use.
I have a Space Gray e'coupe and i will be using Blackfire Wet Diamond PP sealant but i want to top it with wax. Can a professional or someone who has experience with BFWD recommend a type of wax that will both complement my car's color as well as the sealant? I'm leaning towards Dodo Juice Supernatural atm. |

I've been using Purple Haze over BFWD on my Sparkling Graphite and the results have been awesome. Space Gray is a bit lighter than Sparkling Graphite but I would expect the results to be just as good. I have been very satisfied. I use Born Slippy in between waxes to keep the shine up.

Your car has silver tone to it, you don't want polymer based sealant it'll make it too "silverish" glow, the carnauba is the way to go, just enough shine and warmth with transparent detail of the metalic flakes. The problem with DoDo supernatural, is they pack too much carnauba granules w/o enough solvent. try this, melt the wax between your plams and you'll get pack of carnauba with SN not with Zymol. Too many mfg try to come up with exotic wax IMHO in their kitchen. |

I used Pete's 53 on my old SG e90 and it really brought out colors.

I'd strongly recommend Blackfire Wet Diamond as your sealant, then pick a carnauba to amp up the gloss even further. You can't beat the value of PB Natty's Blue on darker colors. Dodo Purple Haze is another great choice.

Just wanted to update ya'll,
I ordered the BFWD and Dodo Juice Supernatural. (decided to give this combo a shot first) First time detailing, I applied the BFWD by hand after claying my car. I wasn't too impressed with how it turned out after waiting 16hrs for it to cure. Maybe i applied it incorrectly? I used about a nickel size drop on my applicator and worked on it panel by panel, half hood etc. After letting it cure, i applied Dodo Juice Supernatural also by hand, easy breezy to apply but horrible to remove once haze dried.. i used a plush microfiber to remove it and it was a pain!! But i must say that all that hard work payed off because the wax definitely gave the car a better kick! Verdict BFWD - Not impressed, though i couldve applied it incorrectly, im willing to give it another shot being as it is so easy to work with. DoDo Juice SN - Love its shine n gloss, hard to remove. |

I love the BFWD. It looks fantastic on SG What I did was put about a nickle size on myself, use LONG overlapping strides, spread it really thin, working in about a 3x3 area almost. I then applied a nickle size again, worked a different section, then after that section, went back and wiped the 2 down as they both had a couple minutes of dry time by then. Then I moved to the next panel. It gets slicker the longer it cures, after about 24 hours its at its optimal slickness |

I don't understand why all the e90s have so much orange peel from the factory!? I almost wet sanded and buffed my whole car just to get rid of some of it. My body shop buddy advised me against it tho since there's no telling how thich the clear coat is.

Even my friends aunt's brand new Nissan had orange peel. Its not just e90's I dont think. It may just be from cutting corners and such to save $$??

That's y it's a Nissan LOL. Usually BMW doesn't have that much orange peel. Maybe it's because there's no body lines across the middle of the car?! Usually the peel is less above the body line and more below it.

I noticed, even in MUNICH during the factory tour when they show the process, the hoods had the orange peel. I have no clue what it would be to cause it except possibly just getting cheaper with things.
