Youll need a decal stating you have a CF brace or no one would ever know unless you go to a meet and pop the hood with all your homies with hands in pockets starring at the engine bay.

what is the weight difference between the aluminum and CF braces?

What is the rigidity difference?

What is the cost difference?

Do you actually race enough that the minute weight difference will actually be noticeable?

Just get your current one wrapped in CF. (not vinyl, but whatever else they do).

BMW's description:Sporty in its design and supremely resilient, the carbon strut brace is marked with the wordmark "BMW Performance" on its surface, marking each view of the motor compartment a satisfying experience. Made from the same lightweight, durable carbon fiber material used in Formula One racing, this high-tech strut brace has both low density and high strength characteristics. The entire piece weighs only 1.5 pounds! Shock absorption is also increased, which reduces road forces and body roll and lends a firmer road-feel.

Post a list of your mods; we'll find other ways to spend your money.

In all seriousness a two-point strut brace makes no perceptible difference on these cars in terms of handling. You could remove the strut brace entirely and not notice a difference. They make the engine bay looks nice but that's about it; the BMW Performance CF one will certainly do the job if that's what you're going for.

Don't forget to ride around with your hood popped open just a bit ... it's a trick I learned from watching the Fast and the Furious.

A few years back in late 2010 GetBMWParts was having a 50% off sale on the carbon fiber brace. I got one. Did I notice a difference in the handling or steering feel? Ah, maybe, but if I did it was so slight it wouldn't be worth the $750 MSRP they were selling the brace for back then; but at $375, yeah, it was worth the bling factor (and the minuscule performance increase). I do get a bit warm an fuzzy when I open the hood. Guys around here have spent much more for cosmetic mods...

What I find interesting about the link is they are charging $300 to install it. What a laugh; you can literally install it in less than 15 minutes.

you are not exactly correct, they weigh different in different places which effects handling more then anything else. i dont think the 335 is as balanced, i know as much about my statement as you do of yours.

No, youre right. 335 is front heavy-er which makes the 328 a more balanced car.

Either way...i just said it cuz some 335 owners think "oh its just a 328". I still regret not getting a 335 tho . Just cant beat the feeling of turbo spooling

to get back on topic, strut braces are a waste. i have an aluminum one sitting in my garage but i dont care enough to ship it. so if anyone in the houston area is reading this and wants one let me know a hundred bucks and its yours.
