Brake pad quality, paint

Just received hawk hps brake pads yesterday. After some inspection, I noticed that the pads have been sprayed with the paint intended for the backing. Just wondering if it'll affect the braking and if I should try and remove it before installing.
Also wondering if this is just bad quality from manufacturing, or if it's common to see paint on the sides of the pads.
There's paint on the side surfaces of the pads where the pads come in contact with the rotor, there's paint on the outside sides of the pads that's perpendicular to the rotor, and of course paint on the backing panel holding the pad material.
What do you guys think?

Yes like that pic with paint on the sides, BUT also on the side of the pads top portion. I'll take a pic... gimy a sec, gota charge battery -_-

The metal backing is painted black, and the paint on the pads is also black, like overspray from spraying the metal backing.

That's not typical of other Hawk HPS pads I've sold. But with that said, I don't think there is any reason to return them for a new pair. Take some 80 grit sandpaper to the painted friction material area until you get to fresh friction material. It appears that the painted area is on the chamfered section of the pad, correct?

Im telling you bro, you'll be fine. You notice how the sides are painted and that is ok for that thin layer around the side to contact the rotor?

Same applies for the "chamfered" area. As the pad wears down, only a very thin slice of that chamfered area will be in contact with the rotor at a time. Its kind of hard to explain what im trying to say, you have to imagine the pad wearing over time on the rotor. Basically, that entire painted portion will never be in contact with the rotor, only a very thin slice at a time as the pad wears, that slice will move outward and outward slowly burning off all that paint, just like on the sides but at an angle instead of horizontal.

Does that make any sense to you?

guess what... right after i get the pads installed, i receive an email from the sellers, telling me not to install them...
Just the best timing in the world....
