Hi all,

A friend is looking for a 335i and has stumbled on the below 2.

One is a 2008 m sport for 8500, and the other is a se dct for 10500.

The 2008 is a one owner car and the individual 335i is a 2 owner car, mileage is very similar.

Please advise !

Have to agree with the DCT, I think you will find the DCT car will be a 2009 build as well and registered in 2010. I would check that as it might give you some leeway on the price...

LCI car registered Dec 30 2009. Hopefully the colour looks better in the flesh than pics. Could be an interesting car.

Are those wheels OEM?

Is that what DCT looks like on a non M-car?

Yes, they are individual bmw wheels.

Not aftermarket wheels.

No votes for the 2008 car ! ?

CIC Nav and relocated heated seat buttons don't make it an LCI?

Genuine question as it does on my M3.

LED rear lights, facelifted front end including different headlights, bumper, wings and bonnet.

M3 didn't get the facelifted front end.

Cool and nice purchase. 2008 M sport is a nice base tbh as you'd always want to start replacing the bumpers etc to start with for the SE.

Sadly not many amongst us appreciate the subtlety of a e92 335i SE

Thanks buddy.

And that’s an interesting thought. Hmmm sport to se conversion.

I appreciate the subtlety of SE... but I just prefer the look of M Sport! IMO it just looks far more interesting. It's entirely subjective of course, but there is a fine line between subtle and a bit dull, and it's all relative too I guess - the M Sport is subtle compared to an M3, it's aggressive looking but not quite as menacing, but compared to both of them the SE just looks a bit uninteresting to me.

I'm currently still flip-flopping on a daily basis as to which car to go for next but at the moment I am certainly leaning towards an e92 335i. There is a really clean low mileage 2007 for sale really near me at the moment and it's the exact colour combination I want... but I've decided against it because it's an SE. The reality is I will just end up spending a fair bit of coin converting it, so I may as well hold out until the right factory M Sport comes along.

Yeah I kind of agree with you on that the SE is a little too bland and subtle looking, however over the M sport I still think the moulded aero lip on the SE bumper was probably one of my favourite mods and looked just so much better than the sport bumper (even with the corner splitters added).

If there similar price id of got the DCT. Pretty easy to change a few bumpers, bit harder to switch gearbox's lol. 10.5k for a 2009 DCT is a good price.

I agree, especially since it's an individual. It comes with cic aswell rather than ccc. I pushed him to get that but the m sport was local, cheaper and a decent car in itself.

I think it boiled down to the fact that this car is his daily car and he didn't want to be spending to much on it. For 8.5k a 2008 one owner m sport with full history wasn't a bad shout I guess. Future plans on it are a few cosmetics and a few performance mods also.

He'll be reading this soon when he joins the forum lol... He's not gona be happy lol

Yep, the CIC is much better as well. Ah well it sounds a good car he's bought anyway.

Was surprised at the price on the DCT one, the mileage wasn't too bad either.....Did look a bit blank though with the SE, and black leather.

Got a DCT M Sport Highline myself so had the lot, with red interior. Best spec 335i IMO. Love it!
