Well despite a disastrous trip to bmw for a software update, that they couldn't do and still charged me £120! the good news is my brakes are on?
They look awesome and feel great to. Think they will need another bleed and may uprate the fluid to some performance stuff, but you nearly hit the screen if you jump on them! Couple if phone pics, That's a 20" wheel by the way... Rears, 405mm 8 pot fronts/ 380mm 6 pot rear 2 piece floating discs with braided lines all round, and very orange!

Stud conversion and polarised bolts gathering dust in the garage will be fitted shortly.
Remap ( to really get the gains from the decat ) at evolve on Tuesday. Think it should fly after that!

I love these build threads - they are an inspiration as to what can be [tastefully] achieved.
Shame that so many of early pics are no longer there ?

Like that wrap - looking at some of the photo's on this thread the colour definitely seems to change dependent on light conditions, some of the workshop shots almost looks silver..
You mentioned on cutters thinking about losing the tints, at the moment IMO rear windows help tie in black wheel colour, could throw a spanner in the works especially with wheel choice quandary.... |

Hear what your saying on the rear tints. Thinking if I remove and I think it's to light I will get a light to medium tint all round. Light front graduating to a medium on back three. If I'm honest the tint isn't great ( especially around the dot matrix) so have no real qualms about removing, all will decide after.

I think i remember that you are going to have a cinnamon interior ? Reckon that will look good and possibly enhance the 'bronzeness'! Talking of cinnamon .. it was my favourite colour on an E46 M3 (black or grey ) and so wished i had ordered it rather than the red I had. I didn't realise i liked it till i saw it at a BM3W meet on a mates car .. and was always envious of his choice. Oh - and when are we going to be able to see this car in the flesh ? Will be worth the drive from the south coast I think

Nick stop messing around and please buy them wheels advertised on cutters, they are awesome. Even tried to work out figures to get them to fit on mine but its just not happening plus my brakes would look tiny

Why?! Car looks amazing on those wheels. I have no idea what wheels you're considering but I doubt any wheel could look as perfect under those arches.

Nick, saw those wheels on cutters and truthfully, I don't think they're going t give that big an improvement over your current ones.... Personally I'd keep your current wheels and spend the dough on something else, if there's anything else left to mod that is hehe
What's to say you'll get those other wheels and then maybe come across something else and not think about them!? It's never ending! If you've done almost everything and you've really wanted your wheels for ages or always had your heart set on them then go for it... But ask yourself this... Were you planning on buying them later anyways!? |
