2011/12 335d engine into 2007 335d

Hello, As i am a very paranoid person when it comes to my car breaking down, i would like to know if any of you guys or girls know if a 2012 335 engine would swap straight over into my 07 335? I asume it would be a swap over because nothing has changed apart from the lci body panels

I was looking to buy a engine with around 20,000 miles and put it in my 335 if or when it breaks down.

Our cars don't go back as far as 2007. If nothing has changed over the years it should be just as easy as plug an play.

our engines have been in service for over 13 yrs with some mods to meet the U.S. gestapo/nazi EPA/CARB regs and European emissions laws
