M3 tension arm /lower wishbone help

I am upgrading my front control arms to M3 ones on my 06 330. The front one was super easy less than 10 minutes.

The rear one (tension arm) is giving me a fit. Try to slide it into the channel and put the bolt though it. I basically had to hammer it to even get it started going in. the ball joint fits fine, but I just can't get the bushing end to slide back. I tried to open the bracket a little with no luck.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sometimes you need to grind down the sleave the bold goes through.

You mean the solid metal end on the monoball joint?

I am not talking about the ball joint. I am talking about the subframe end.

^ what he said.

The front wishbones are a very tight fit where they mount to the subframe. I found out that most installers grind a little off of the bushing (you can’t file it, it’s hardened steel; take off a few thousandths and they’ll slip in) so I had the mechanic do it after checking it was indeed needed. (Some have taken a file to the subframe instead, but it's the hard way).
