Better Halogens or HID kits?

I just took delivery on my e90 2010 without Xenons. I didn't have a lot of options with what was on inventory and after driving it for a week, I really do miss the Xenons my Infiniti had. You definitely can notice a difference driving at nights.

I've been doing a lot of research. Converting to OEM Xenon's seems to cost thousands which I will not do. So my options are upgrade to better halogen's such as Sylvania Silverstar, etc or going to the HID kits such as Hoen.

What are some of your opinions? My goal is better lighting when driving at night, I am not as concerned with cosmetics as much (i.e: blue, etc).

I find it very irritating that you have to turn on the Fog lights manually every time you want to use them.....kind of defeats the purpose of the Automatic headlights.

Fogs are designed for foggy conditions so you will not want to run them all the time. This is why BMW only activates the headlights under automatic mode...the next evolution would be a fog sensor that automatically turns on the fogs in foggy conditions.

Your only other option within your budget would be installing an error free HID kit and have to aimed them downwards to reduce the glare
