N54/N55 335i
I understand that LCI cars typically have the N55 (single turbo) engine. I also hear that quite a few N54 engine cars have trouble with HPFP, injectors, Turbo's etc.
I know that the tuning potential of the N55 is less than the N54, but is the reliability of the N55 significantly better ? N54 Pros, Very tuneable, Twin Turbo (Parallel running) (400hp with Map), Cons, can be unreliable. N55 Pros, More MPG, More reliable ? Cons, Less Tuneable (350hp with Map) Can you confirm if i have this correct. Thanks. Last edited by Bungle009; 12-24-2011 at 06:47 AM.. |

N54 - twin turbo
N55 - twin scroll (single) turbo. Not sure n55 is any more reliable.
