Just a heads up Guys.

If your changing the hoses, you might want to consider changing the brake fluid to Dot 4.1,or Dot 5.1.

The drawback with 5.1 is it should be changed yrly, whereas the 4.1 can be changed in line with your servicing.

Same here, and not far off new pads / discs on the rear so i might as well change all around and do the hoses at the same time

4.1 - Castrol Super Response.
5.1 - AP Racing.

Or Motul do a 4.0 & a 5.1 fluids.

There is only one brake reservoir,so the fluid will be the same front - back.
Allow 3 litres for a proper job,a Dealer will typically use 1.

Erm... I don't think so.

Boiled fluid is the only real cause of a soft pedal.

The oem lines are adequate for almost all use, including track work.

The main reason people think the lines have made an improvement is because you have to use new fluid when you fit them.
And THAT is why they suddenly feel better

Motul RBF600 for the best of both worlds.

Well actually we are BOTH right Yes fluid plays a big part but so do rubber hoses.

For the record I've used performance fluid on a car with rubber hoses and I still got a spongy pedal after repeated hard use on track.

Also rubber hoses deteriorate over time and become brittle.

Is that for a full set, ie 4 hoses, or were you referring to a pair?
