Can you also list running 17's and slicks on your time please as it quite clearly made a big difference.

Jules.

ps you need to swap our cars around, yours is the lighter weight E92 and mine the substantially heavier and much less aerodynamic E90...

Carlos,

Suggest the following for your chart:
  • Get rid of the yellow
  • Get rid of the bold
  • Reduce font size
  • Add Reaction Time out to 0.000 seconds (may require drivers to resend the information)
  • Add 60' Time out to 0.000 seconds (may require drivers to resend the information)
  • Set Elapsed Time out to 0.000 seconds
  • Set Speed to 0.00 mph (or whatever the timing slips show)
  • Make all time colums formatted the same
  • Add column on left with ranking
  • Turn OFF row / column labels

Mate, there road legal tyres....

EVERYONE i also need what tyres everyone is running to put down on the table also

17" is irrelevant.

I actually think the e90 is more aero dynamic actually... I may be wrong, just a hunch though.

I know the 5series is more aero dynamic than the E92. I read some info on it. suprising i know.

Touchy touchy mate... Jules is having a bit of a laugh...!
And yes, you're right the 888s are road-legal... not exactly road-normal though?! You consciously switched to them to get a better time right?? Counts as a mod then, just like my downpipes/map etc... don't be shy, put your tyre mod up - no need to hide that!

And you're right - the E60 5er saloon is more aerodynamic than the E92, having a drag coefficient (cD) value of 0.27 compared to 0.30 for the E92. The E90 is worse off - 0.32cD

Specs I've seen for the 335d show the E90 to be heavier than the E92, albeit only slight - 15-20kgs.

Totally relevant..................you know what I am getting at, any aid that is over and above std should be commented on, if you think that running fat 17's with semi slick R888 road/track tyres doesn't give you an advantage then get back down there on your 19s and post a 13 please.....

Good lad,

Jules.

I cant believe you dont understand that?

PM your slip please and also what tyres you were running!

I rekon i could post close to the 13.0 with my conti's, ive never played around with pressures on them and also im launching differently now..

So the E90 is less aerodynamic than the E92.....thought so, cheers Tone. I think I am also right about the weight of the two cars, but we'll see on that, however

Come on, if you can't see when I am being a bit tongue in cheek by now then you never will.

Ref the tyres....road legal is one thing, road tyres and semi slicks are another, both are "road legal" but both give different levels of grip in certain conditions. They were a mod that have enhanced performance, so stick it up and be proud........it's not a dig.

Jules.

Don't understand...WTF??

So why did you not stick 19 inch R888's on your original 19 in alloys then, why did you feel the need to find some 17s?

Yes the rolling radius is the same obviously, but the idea is normally to increase contact patch and allow the tyres to grip into the ground, this is achieved far easier with a fat side wall than a narrow side wall.

Tony,

I know you are the fountain of all knowledge BMW, but I need to see the specs, otherwise we'll have to organise a Weighbridge Shootout

Just checked the BMW website and it doesn't carry the correct data comparison for the E90/E92 335D, but it does have the correct comparative data for the 330d in both E90 and E92, it shows the E90 to be heavier - 1610kg v 1600kg...is the website wrong? Can't see why this would be different for the 335d?
