Awaiting Delivery of Car...If I Had To Get A Starter Kit of 1 Brand...Which?

There are several great brands out there like Zaino, Klasse, etc. that have great full detail starter kits available. I'm telling the dealer not to touch the car so I can take it home to detail it. To avoid having to buy 1 product here and there I'd like to stick with one brand. Which brand would you recommend has the best starter/combo kit? Please provide a link where I could possibly purchase (if you have one) with your suggestion.

Thanks!

I've yet to see a starter kit from a single brand that has everything you would want to start detailing. While sometimes it is beneficial to use the same brand products for product synergy, you usually have to end up piecing things together based on your detailing goals and objectives.

We would have everything you would need to get started, but it wouldn't be from one particular brand. If would like my help putting together a package for you, please do not hesitate to ask.

I've already read George's words of wisdom in other threads so I trust his word. However, I'm not looking to drop $150-200 on a detailing starter kit. If you can get put together a package for a reasonable price like the one-brand starter kits, i.e. around $100 then I would be interested. I'm not looking to go nuts with detailing. Just would like some good stuff for a great first detail.

Ok, cool. So here's some more of my advice. PM George, and let him know a couple of things, such as your car color, what (if any) flaws, marks, swrils....pretty much any problems you might have on your car, what type of products you've used in the past, and what type of experience level you have. Then let him know what your goals are.....what are you trying to achieve. Maybe you've seen someone elses car and you really liked the way it looked. Then let him know what your budget is ($100). Then let him go to work for you.

This is pretty much what I did, and he gave me all the help I needed. I couldn't be happier with the way my car looks. Here's a link on a review I did after he helped me out.

Thank you for the kind words. Based on what you said, this is what I'd recommend for ~$100.

Wash & Dry & Clay:
Poorboy's World Super Slick & Suds - $15.99
Lake Country Ulti-Mit - $15.99 (less 5% when bought w/ SS&S)
Waffle Weave Drying Towel - $19.99 (less 5% when bought w/ SS&S)
Clay Magic Medium Grade Clay Bar - $24.99 (less 5% when bought w/ SS&S)
Poorboy's Spray & Wipe - $8.99 (less 5% when bought w/ SS&S)

Polish & Protect:
Poorboy's Polish w/ Sealant - $16.99
Poorboy's Natty's Blue - $17.99 (less 5% when bought w/ Polish w/ Sealant)
2x Microfiber All Purpose Removal Towels - $3.99 (less 5% when bought w/ Polish w/ Sealant)
2x Foam Applicator Pads - $1.49 ea (less 5% when bought w/ Polish w/ Sealant)

Sub-Total = $126.94
Less 10% with discount code e90post = ($12.69)
Total before shipping = $114.25

This is the most comprehensive package I could put together without sacrificing quality for right around $100. The washing and drying products are paint safe, you can properly prep your paint with a clay bar, polish, seal and top with a natural carnauba wax.

I opted for the Lake Country Ulti-Mit as it will keep costs lower in the future as it is a very durable mitt compared to a sheepskin wash mitt that can begin to deteriorate after a handful of uses.

If you have any questions on anything, please do not hesitate to ask.

Thanks for considering us!

George

Awesome! Thanks George! I can't wait to see how Sparkling Graphite looks after a polish. Now if the car can just get here! It's getting painted as we speak.

Not knowing a whole lot about "serious"detailing before I had my bimmer, I bought the Klasse kit as recommened on this forum. So far, so good. I like it and it seems to hold up well.

Reminds me, time for my fall AIO, and SG.
