Brilliant job mate, really impressive finish.

But when Wicked Wheels etc do the same repair for £50 mobile at a place of your leisure is it worth the hard work for £10??

You probably smoked £10 during the job

First class job, especially as you used spray cans. When I saw your original pictures, I assumed you'd used a proper spray gun.
Did you have any paint left over and, if so, how many cans do you estimate it would take to do all 4 wheels?

The problem with Wicked Wheels type refurbs is that they grind down the rim to a even finish. This often leaves the wheel looking a little out of round especially in the damaged areas. Also, with the level of damage involved here I don't think it could actually have been done.

The paint should do all 4 wheels - maybe the clear a bit less as I gave it 5 coats to allow for later polishing.

not all wheel refurb guys do it that way. i have always used a great place near me in hertfordshire called BJV Engineering, all the guys do is alloy wheels ive had the 19 inch set on my old E46 done 2 times with them, they dont just grind the rim back to get rid of marks, they actually alloy weld any deep gauges from a bad kerbing and fully strip the alloy back before repainting, got a fantastic job every time for just £50 that included fitting a new tyre (which i supplied from Camskill...bargin tyre prices delivered) and disposing of my old one at same time. and IF i go near any curbs with my 19s again ill use these guys every time.

But looks like u had fun doing the diy job. you must have patience
