Swapped pre-LCI door mirrors to LCI mirrors

This is kind of a re-post however I wanted to let whoever is interested that I was able to swap from pre-LCI door mirrors to LCI door mirrors on my '06 with premium package and everything works fine. I don't have auto-dim mirrors, so I can't comment on that, however mirror adjust, reverse function and fold-in features work. Haven't tested the heated function. I like the larger mirror area for driving.

Agreed the larger mirrors make a big difference for driving, but they are disproportionately large compared to the pre-LCI ones. Doesn't bother me much on the sedan looks-wise though. Nice switch, glad it worked well for you.

Hi, I just install LCI mirrors in my pre-LCI car, when I connect the mirrors it move all the way down and inside, also block the windows (can't up or down). I need to recode or something else? Regards

Good job. Dont let the elephant ears people bother you, your driving a sport sedan not a Ferrari. They look fine. I have never used pre-LCI mirrors, but the vision is so bad in the e90 (couldnt speak to teh e92 since the B-pillar is different) any improvement with bigger mirrors or cameras or whatever is great!

Did pre-LCI mirrors have reverse function (very important to those of us who park parallel and dont have side sensors)?

the pre-LCI had the reverse function. The issue that I have is that I can't control the mirrors, both move all the way down without control. I read a lot of post that this swap is plug and play, but mine don't work. Unfortunately I don't have the old mirror, I need to unplugged to use the car.

Any though will be appreciate. Thanks

I concur. The pre-lci mirrors just look so much better.

I come from an e30 then e36 M3.

The pre-LCI mirror small? Use the mirrors in an e36 M3 for a while.

Well done, I'm glad it worked well for you. I too wouldn't do it for aesthetic purposes but the LCI mirrors are much better for visibility.

Oh man. Those dumbo mirrors kill me. My sister has an LCI. She makes fun of my hood with barely any lines, I make fun of her mirrors.

Same for the mirrors on the e92.lci ones always look weird to me. I'd even go as far as to say it somehow takes away the sporty feels of the whole car.but it's something thats to one their own.good it works for you.

Hi, here is an update of my issue. After a hard research, testing ,etc. I found that the mirrors I bought are for a car without seat/mirror memory, that means that the mirror motor is different, mine need the motor number 67137191398 that has LIN bus. So I need to buy the motor or another mirrors =(. BTW the connector and everything is the same. Nice weekend
