All Season Tire Question

So I have 3-4 months to make a decision on my new tires for my 07 335I. I will probably be going away from the run flats, and moving to a regular tire.

I am considering a set of All Weathers since I live in the northeast. So one tire I am considering is the Continental Extreme Contact DWS (Ultra High Performance All-Season).

So if anyone has these please let me know, if I will be missing anything with the all seasons instead of the Summer tires.

Thanks

I have heard nothing but great things about the Conti's. Plus they are pretty cheap too!

I wish they made them in the proper 19 inch sizes to put on my 230's.

I have a set on my 07 335i in the DC metro area. Honestly, they feel so much better (grip wise) than the runflats, they have minimal road noise, and they work pretty decently in light snow and slush. I haven't really taken them out in heavy snow, but so far I'm pretty happy with them. I bought a set of 4 rial salerno rims + the DWS's from Gary@TireRack and that experience was very positive as well.

I got a set of Pilot Sport A/S Plus tires. They ride better, are quieter and tramline less than the stock. Steering precision is slightly less sharp, and ultimate grip is a tiny bit less than the potenzas, but it is still very good. I think the lesson I've learned is that A/S tires will never be as good as the best summer tires, but they'll be damn close.

Come spring, I'll be putting on a set of dedicated summers to blow through auto-xing and save the Pilot Sport A/S's for fun in the winter.
