Alpine HiFi upgrade and sponge part ?
I have mounted tweeters and everything in door panels and now I have realized that this sponge part can be taken out of the old window surroundings. Does this needs to be mounted on new surroundings with tweeters ? If yes, why isnt this mentioned in any tutorial ?
Cheers

SH*T !! Now I must do everything again and I have lost 3 hours first time. Not to mention how it is hard to take it off and on. What should I trim/cut for cables or for tweeters ? Can someone write here or show on my photo.
Tnx

No trim required... your own photo shows the indent in the foam for the wire pass-thru.

Yea, I was affraid to brake something and I havent found on the internet how it is connected with the door so I didnt know how to pull :-) Trim was the hardest part to take off, I almost broke it. Other side was in 15 minutes down and up when I knew how it looks from inside. Now here we go again
@Technic: I saw that indent but tutorial says that the wires should go trough that square hole in frame ? And this piece fills that hole.

I just did this a couple weeks ago. did you run new wires into the doors? if so, you can run them behind the black covering behind the door panel and out under the tweet.
if not, just use the stock location where the wires come out. It really doesnt matter what you do with the wires as long as the do not get pinched or cut by something. good luck! heres a link to the DIY I used. It is good. theres a video somewhere also. I don't see any reason as to why you should tear everything open again just to put these styrofoam pieces back. The way I see it, they have absolutely no impact on the functionality of the tweeters - they are just there to fill the void inside that cavity.

the way i see it, BMW put them there in the first place for a reason. Thus, I think they should be there.
