320i go fast bits

Hi,

I'm new to the forum, and just bought my first BMW, its a e90 08 upgrade 320i. Not the fastest car on the planet but I must say its an absolute dream to drive. Everything I expected. Spewing I waited so long to buy it.

I'm wondering what I can do to it to get more grunt? I'm interested in things people have actually done already and what the performance increase was in real life.

I'm thinking larger air intake, fatter exhaust, is there anything else?

Cheers.

You can do SFA do improve performance. But when I was had my 320i I put in a K&N filter with airbox base removed and an OEM BMW Performance Exhaust. It sounded pretty good.

Welcome!

Spend your money on cosmetics and exhaust...

Unfortunately, no point chasing power on this car.

same advice here. not much that can be done on power, plenty of cosmetic options!

Howdy, thanks for the advice, that seems like the best option. Does anyone know where to buy the BMW OEM PE in Melbourne?

Check out BMR Autowerkes. Stu aka bmroxm5 who posted earlier is your man. Great pricing.

Don't know if there's a place in Melbourne you could get it. Certainly not from the stealers. They don't bring them in coz the BMWPE is not ADR compliant. But that hasn't stopped ppl getting them in.

Definitely can't get the BMW PE from a dealer. BMR can get one in for you easy so PM bmroxm5 for info.

Thanks everyone, thats great help.

I'm mostly happy with the performance, I wouldnt have bought it otherwise, but would like it to sound better so this is a great option.

where can you get the pedalbox from and how much is it? Also is there honestly an improvement over stock.. I mean the 320 could use better throttle response

imo spend the money on something that actually increases the performance. you want better throttle response, push harder with right foot simple!

dont listen to paul, he has a jb4 tune which remaps the throttle anyway and obviously forgets how shitty the throttle response is on a stock euro car.

I have a spare pedalbox if you want one. They are $250. Else, you get them from the UK.

pretty sure the JB4 doesn't remap throttle but definately improves performance, JB4 FTW

You can't put a JB4 on a 320. Luster was talking about the throttle remapping function, which is what a pedalbox does, and a JB4 which does that and much much more, but for a N54 (335) engine.

What does this throttle control actually do? mechanically speaking? Is it a remapping of the fuel maps in a plug in chip?
