Thumbs up Online Defensive Driver course

Hi everyone, just wanted to pass this info to let you know in case any member is interested. I started the NYS DMV approved online course a couple of days ago and found it on the NYS DMV site, it had the best price after using a promotion code for a total of $29.00.
Here is the promo code ( cA40)that I found for a discount of $5.00.

"Upon completion of this online course, New York drivers will receive a benefit of a 4-point reduction on their NY driving record and a 10% insurance discount on their New York auto insurance rates."

Thumbs up

Just finished the course, it wasn't that bad, funny at some points because you can also listen to the guy's voice reading the text if you like.
If for some reason the promo code doesn't work, use this one ' NY101' ( without the quotation marks) for the $5.00 discount.
Glad to be of assistance to our members.

My wife and I completed one from AARP, it was about $17 and our premium went down about $400 for the year. It's abt 8 hrs and I think you get a month to complete it.

I have my policy with liberty mutual.

I checked them out but I wasn't interested in becoming a member of AARP to receive a member discount , but if they are a member, then definitely it's worth it, but until I'm a little older.........LOL.
Maybe in three years when I reach that age.

"Not a member? Join AARP now and receive your discounted price and all the great benefits of membership for only $16 a year." "* New York residents must pay $23.95 for members, and $27.95 for non-members."

"In the State of New York, the AARP Driver Safety Online Course for Insurance and Point Reduction is $15.95 for members and $19.95 for non-members. Both member and non-member rates will have an additional fee of $8.00 to cover fees payable to the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles."

You do have to complete the 6 hours as required , but you can do as much as you want , as long as you complete it within 30 days. Its not that bad , I would highly recommend it.

I'm not too sure about how many points you can get rid of , it's either 3 or 4 after completting the course, but the site will provide all the info on points.

I believe so, check your State DMV site for any links , or check the online course site for your state .

I received my online Defensive Driver course certificate on Monday , called my insurance, gave them the number of the company , insurance called them to see if they can fax a copy of the certificate, they did and I was done. I received my discount, paid online and I saved $74.00.

Recently completed this course... Brought the certificate to my insurance agent on Friday, and this will be saving me $80 per year over the next 3 years. Gotta love it.
