CIC & reversing camera

My X5 E70 has the new CIC system with nav/bluetooth etc but no reverse camera.
I have managed to get hold of the CCC retrofit reverseing camera part 66210417969. When I reviewed the wiring diagram, only 2 wires go the the CCC pin 4 (FBAS RFK) and pin 2 (FBAS GND RFK). Now having read all the posts about the new CIC,it seems that everyone is saying that all the pins and functions remain the same. So finally my question is, will this kit work? I know it will need coding and I have someone to do this.

Help please anyone

I have been following the numerous threads of upgrading the nav to CIC and getting their existing sotware to work ( TV etc) My vehicle already has CIC but I only have the CCC retrofit kit for the reverse camera. Does anyone have any ideas please?

many thanks.

The CCC reverse camera won't work with the CIC idrive. When BMW introduced the CIC on the e70 they updated the camera (to higher resolution). Also the control module changed for the camera. The e70 now supports multiple cameras.

Is there any word out there when will camera retrofit kit be available for CIC vehicles?

Great, but if i understand correctly, these are not OEM solutions? I'd rather stick with the OEM as my car is still in warranty, and i wouldn't like to void my warranty by using aftermarket solution

Aftermarket will not void any aspect of your warranty unless the aftermarket product can be shown to directly cause any problems you are having. For example, the BMW dealer cannot deny you coverage of some electrical problem in your car simply because you have an aftermarket camera. He'd have to show that the camera caused the electric problem.

The flipside is that you can still be denied warranty coverage for OEM parts, unless it is a product that is installed by a BMW dealer under normal procedures. So, for example, if you are an E9x owner and you order a OEM BMW backup camera from a European parts supplier and then install it in the states (where the camera is not a dealer-installed option), you won't necessarily be protected.

If you're still interested, there is now a special after market module that will allow the CIC to work with the older CCC backup camera. Its very simple installation, with an included harness ...

If you are interested, you want want to speak with patryk at bimmertech. do a search at e90post ...

I have the module, and the older CCC camera works perfectly with the newer CIC idrive. All the same menu items and functionality exist. Infact if anything, I would say the camera view looks better, simply because the idrive screen is twice the resolution as the older CCC screen !

We can offer the OEM backup camera retrofit anytime.
For BimmerTech PnP backup camera kit you need to wait a bit more...

Guys,
All sorted now, an excellent job with Bimmertech, not only sourcing the parts but being able to do the coding remotely. I now have a fully working OEM reverse camera on my E70 with CiC. Many thanks.
