BMW Performance Steering Wheel Question

Hey guys,

This is a question for those who installed their electronic performance steering wheels themselves. I picked up a v1 electronic steering wheel on the boards, and unfortunately the clock spring supplied looks exactly like mine does, and does not have wiring coming out of it to connect to the new wheel. I have contacted the seller but he unfortunately did not remove the wheel.

Is there a harness required that plugs from the clock spring --> steering wheel plug, or have I indeed received the wrong clock spring?

It sounds like you got the old clock spring and they left the new one in the car when they removed the steering wheel. Here is a good DIY with pics that shows the difference between the old and new one required for the wheel.

Figured it out. The clock spring I received was incorrect (unfortunately seller is not responding to PM's), but it is the same clock spring as an x5 with a heated steering wheel, so I ordered one up.

One question I also had was if anyone has ever tried the new control module on the old steering wheel. I would be interested to see if it functions the same but with the non-changing LED's.
