Do you ever let her into the kitchen for a bit at least?

Just got mine back from the dealer. I am really liking this so far. The car feels more "alive" during all types of driving. It's not a "tremendous" boost but it is enough to just pep the car up and make it that much better. Plus the exhaust burble is just fun.

JB is fun, fast and powerful, but that's not why you'd get it over the PPK. PPK is warranty-proof and legit, and you don't have to take it off every time your car is at the dealer, so it wins in it's own way.

Exactly. My car is a lease and I didn't want to risk anything when it comes to warranty. I honestly love the kit. I just pulled my front license plate off to open up the cooling duct inlets a little more. I was worried about oil temps but after taking off the plate they are rock solid at 240 F.

Yep, yep. Same here, as I was worried at first, but it seems to sit solidly in place. Well, overall, I haven't heard of the N55 having overheating issues, so I'm sure it's just fine.

Hmmm.. I was under the impression that the PPK 1 disables the same valve in your exhaust that you disable with the Golf-Tee mod, hance why it's louder after them accessing only the ECU... I am wrong?

I can practically confirm this, because my right/left exhaust tips are both even in terms of how dirty they get. During the time wherein that valve works, the right tip always gets dirtier faster, however, had none of that after the PPK, so I know the valve has to be disabled along with it.

Still not used to it. If I hit a little too hard I can get an early buck like feel and then it smoothes out.

The PPK exhaust sound is a BMW's recalibration of wastegate positioning at certain parts of throttle and idle that give you the gurgling and pops. Almost all the 011 N55s released had this (valve flap open or closed) before BMW snipped all our balls with new firmware that softened tip-in throttle and removed all the gurgling so that it could sell more PK's and make it sound and seem more exclusive to those who purchase. It's basic business as most people who buy these cars, that aren't enthusiasts, won't even realize the difference and will most likely eek out better mileage with the gutted firmware. If you ask me, it's a complete disgrace.

The flap in the muffler still opens and closes when the car is idle and in motion.

After the upgrade, my mileage insreased by 1 miler per gallon or so, so if it's any concern at all about it, it only does a favor to the car.

I've noticed that mine stays closed (quiet) during startup of the car and warm-up. After a few minutes of idling and letting the car warm, I can hear it open, and afterwards it remains open when I'm driving--even in all low RPMs. I didn't do it before, and now both exhaust tips dirty in the same amount, whereas before the upgrade, the left one would always remain closed in the low RPMs, resulting in the right side working by itself and the overall sound being quieter. Well, in any way, whatever they change with the valve makes the exhuast louder and throatier, and I love it!
